The Real Risk of Multiples, Page 3

One study published in the October 1999 issue of Fertility & Sterility concluded that when using a combination of IUI and ovarian drug stimulation, there is a significant correlation between peak E2 (estradiol) level on day of hCG injection and the occurrence of a multiple pregnancy; specifically, that patients with greater than 583 pg/mL E2 levels were more likely to conceive multiples. The same study also found correlates between kinds of sperm motion, follicle size, and age with multiple conceptions.

The authors of the website "Facts About Multiples" propose their own statistics regarding how multiples are conceived via fertility drugs and treatment vs. no intervention.
